Nkor Dida's Story

From Poverty to Humanitarian Leadership

A Journey of Transformation

Born in a drought-stricken region known for poverty and violence, Nkor Dida couldn't afford college. His family struggled to survive in one of Kenya's most challenging environments, where opportunities for advancement seemed impossible.

That is, until he received a scholarship to attend a highly-regarded Brothers Sponsored Teacher Training Program.

The scholarship didn't just provide tuition — it provided hope, opportunity, and a pathway out of generational poverty. Through quality Lasallian education grounded in faith, service, and academic excellence, Nkor's life was transformed.

Since graduation, Nkor developed a sanitation innovation that was ranked among the top 60 innovations in the world. His work addresses critical public health challenges in marginalized communities.

Tracy K. Muyonga grew up in one of Nairobi's slums, where poverty, limited opportunities, and systemic barriers made education beyond secondary school seem like an impossible dream. Her family couldn't afford college tuition, and like hundreds of thousands of qualified Kenyan students each year, Tracy faced a future with limited prospects despite her academic achievements.

Everything changed when she received a scholarship from the Brothers.
