Founded on a Radical Idea

The De La Salle Christian Brothers were founded on a simple, but radical idea: society is transformed when every young person β€” including the poor and marginalized β€” is empowered with access to quality education.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the Patron Saint of Teachers, revolutionized education in his time by teaching in the language of the people, emphasizing practical and relevant instruction as well as grounding students in values that cultivated both competence and conscience.

Over the years, the Brothers have made it possible for children from financially marginalized families to access quality education through availing scholarship opportunities. The Brothers, together with their Lasallian colleagues, have transformed millions of lives, many of whom are giving back to their communities.

Lasallian schools provide world-class education to disadvantaged students, preparing them for real jobs that break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.

Access for All: A Revolutionary Tuition Model

Creating opportunity through shared community responsibility

A New Concept for African Higher Education

Every year, hundreds of thousands of qualified Africans, a good percentage of whom are Kenyans, are excluded from college due to a lack of available space and cost. Establishing La Salle College is more than just creating a campus β€” it's about creating opportunities where there have been too few for too long.

La Salle College will implement a new concept to African higher education: a tuition model that invites all students into a shared community.

Tuition generated by full-paying students (75%) will cover the tuition for those who cannot afford to pay (25%), creating a unique community of students from all backgrounds to pursue a life-changing education.

This model of shared responsibility has proven successful at colleges and universities all over the world and stands to transform education in Africa.
